On a recent hot afternoon, I took refuge in one of Mt. Vernon’s coolest basements.  There’s a dynamic contrast that sparks when you play these ornate pieces against the scuffed floors and the rough-hewn stone.

I like how unexpectedly modern the rug feels in the photo above.  And how great are these pink and burnt umber vases?
